Win 10 was working fine on my HP EliteBook 2170p until the major windows update 2 January 2019. Since then, Windows would never fully re-boot.
I tried Windows repair a few times - it would never complete and gave an error report.
I tried to 'undue latest upgrade' - it would never complete and gave an error report.
Eventually I have tried to repair while booting from a Win 10...

No "Switch User" option. Is it by design?

Is this ransomware?
I was looking for something in ebay, using edge on 18317 build, when a box flashed onto the screen telling me that 3 viruses had been detected. I shut down the internet immediately. I then ran Malwarebytes free and nothing was detected, so I ran the WD offline scan, and later a full WD scan. Nothing was detected.

Windows 10 Remote User iOS setup screen?
The first iOS screen asked for the IP address. Attached is result of 'ipconfig'. I inserted the address I thought correct and it displays in the upper left of the iOS screen shot.
Settings/Remote Desktop says to use the machine name (MarkP50) as the PC name to connect the device--I did.

I Can't Verify Identity of User Account on Windows 10

Laptop updated to 1809. Can't get WOL to send out...
Not sure the topic is exactly accurate. Here's the story:

Rename/change User account in File Explorer

This is what my file explorer looks like. The only user account in the control panel is TimB. I want to get rid of or rename the defaultuser1.ASUS5 account and the trgra account. I've read various account of how to fix this, but none of them exactly fit my situation.

I want to put wordpress blog into a sub domain, ok so far, it goes into a folder called 'wp' - but how do I open it to begin inserting relevant items onto page. NTFS vs XFS
Hi folks
transferring 2 X 2TB files to NAS server (SAMBA connection) - one encoded NTFS the other XFS over a decent 5GHZ Wifi network - identical file sizes and HDD's identical connected via USB3 port.
My Max Wifi speed over network is approx 850 MB/s.
NTFS file transfer -- gave me around 36 MB/s .The XFS system (Linux file system) gave a speed well over 450 MB/s for the whole transfer....

Can a Macro Recorder be run in Virtual Desktop only?
I'm using a program called Macro Recorder and was setting it up in a Virtual Desktop in order to continue working on the main desktop.
the problem is that when I open Macro Recorder it is executing the macro on which Desktop I'm on and not JUST on the Virtual 2nd Window. If I Ctrl+Win+Left Arrow to the main window it just follows me over.

Desktop boots to a black screen with cmd open
Hi all, for a while now whenever I turn on my computer and log on, I am greeted with a black desktop screen and cmd open.
i am able to open explorer.exe from cmd and my computer runs fine there afterwards. I have ran a few virus scans and everything seems clean.
Any suggestions?
