and of course I have no idea where my record of my product key for Win10 Pro retail got hidden.
I've tried the CMD and Powershell methods and no go.
How do I get my product key so I can use it my new machine?

How to disable search online in the start menu
I would like to disable where windows 10 offers search online recommendations when doing a normal search after clicking on the start menu. I only want the search confined to my computer.
Been looking online at loads of different options from reg hacks to going through settings and they either don't work or the options are not there on my comp.

Default apps by file type
Hello,
Most of my programs are not installed in the system, they are what called 'portables'. They are unzipped into a folder (not on "C"), made a shortcut on the desktop and it works fine for me.
In the control panel I want to set "Default apps by file type", but when I click to select an app, this sends me to the "Store", there is not an option to select from another place on the computer....

Win10 motherboard change activation saga
I recently changed the motherboard and CPU in my primary system. It was running Win10 Pro X64, upgraded from Win8.1 . That was an upgrade from Win 8, which was an upgrade from Win7, which was... you get the idea. The ancestral OS was retail. Windows 10 borked after updating
Hello all,
I have an old laptop, aGateway MX6959. I have windows 10 installed on this machine and it runs great on Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.2212). After updating to any version since this build, my computer is messed up and a lot of stuff doesn't work. The internet does work and the device manager is a mess. The latest update to mess it up is Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.112).

Solved Bug where uninstalled programs aren't removed from tray icon list.
If you right-click the taskbar > taskbar settings > taskbar > select which icons appear on the taskbar - there are uninstalled programs still listed. How do you remove them from this list?

Cannot view contents or change Word 2003 normal.dot file
I'm running win10 Pro on two Dell T3500's
I use Word 2003 and have some minor problems which I hope will be fixed by renaming my normal.doc and restarting Word so I have the default setup. Word 2003 uses normal.dot; dotm was introduced on later versions.

Boot Issues Screen Flicker
Hi,
I updated the other day to build 17134.228 and now when my pc boots the brand name comes up, then the screen flashes off and on and the brand name is back up again and normal boot resumes.
Anyone else see this occurrence in this or other instances or have any ideas?

DVD Player Won't Work
I bought this laptop in Nov 2017. Dell 15 inch.
I have not bothered to use the DVD player since I have owned it.
I inserted a DVD tonight and it did not automatically start like I expected it to do.
I did the usual troubleshooting and nothing worked.
I read some information online and it said that there was no media player installed.
